A bit about me

I’m Ruby, and I am an Accredited Practicing Dietitian (APD).

After studying a bachelors degree of nutrition science for 3 years, and an additional 2 year masters of dietetic practice degree at university, my passion for the field has grown. I have always loved food, cooking, health, sport and helping people so studying nutrition was perfect for me.

For me a lot of my interest in nutrition has stemmed from when I was young, as I have been vegetarian for along time. I have always loved veggies and eating a balanced diet.

MY GOAL

My goal is to give everyone the opportunity to live a healthy lifestyle through spreading evidence based information about nutrition in a simple way.

I have a particular passion for public health, foods for special diets, sports nutrition and helping people have a healthy relationship with food and their bodies, so you will find some blog articles and instagram post on here relating to this area.

My goal is to make nutrition and healthy eating simple for everyone.

I want to inspire and help others fuel themselves for success, enjoy food and have a healthy relationship with food and their bodies.

Along the way I’ll be showing you some of my healthy recipes as well as provide some nutritional facts to help you live a healthy lifestyle.

My Philosophy

My philosophy to nutrition is all about balance, enjoyment and sustainability (all foods can fit in a healthy diet).

Instead of cutting out all our favourite foods, let’s think about what we can add to them!

Balance: To me a balanced diet should contain a mix of protein, carbohydrates, healthy fats and a variety of fruits and vegetables. It should also incorporate some fun foods (your favourite foods) whether that be chocolate or pizza etc. You should allow yourself to include these in your diet to ensure it is sustainable and enjoyable for you.

Sustainability: A good diet, a healthy diet, should be sustainable. Have you ever gone on a diet; cut out multiple food groups, like carbs; it worked for a bit but you struggle to sustain that type of eating over a long period of time.

Cutting out foods and going from diet to diet is not sustainable. You should be able to eat that way for the rest of your life and enjoy it! Thats why it’s important to still include the foods you love.

Enjoyment: Finally enjoyment, if you enjoy your diet, you will stick to it! You should enjoy your food and the way you eat and should be able to do it forever.

These 3 core values in my philosophy all intertwine together.

Once you achieve a well-balanced, sustainable and enjoyable diet, you may experience less cravings, have more energy and feel great about your self!

If this is something you struggle with feel free to reach out and I can help you reach your goals.
